Puppy Adoption Contract
- Our limited registration puppy health guarantee covers against any kind of serious life threatening genetic defect for a period of 2 years. To encourage responsible feeding we will extend the guarantee to 4 years for all dogs that are fed our recommended healthy dog food, Life's Abundance.
The following conditions
must be met in order for the guarantee to be valid:
- The puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 2 business days from the date of sale.
- The puppy must be kept current on all recommended vaccinations and worming, including puppy vet exams as scheduled and yearly vet exams after the first year. Receipts, vet records, etc. must be kept on record and shown as proof.
- If a serious health problem is discovered during a vet exam, the breeder must receive a written statement from the buyer's veterinarian within seven days of the date of examination. Upon verification by breeder's veterinarian of stated health problems, the puppy must be returned to the breeder (at the owner's expense), unless otherwise agreed by breeder. At that time the AKC registration must be signed back over to the breeder. As soon as available, the buyer will be provided with another puppy of the same sex, quality, and value, and buyer is responsible for delivery and pickup of exchanged puppy. A cash refund up to the purchase price of the puppy will be given upon the breeder's discretion and only if a replacement puppy is not available within a reasonable amount of time.
- Slight genetic defects which are not life threatening are not included in this health guarantee. Examples include umbilical hernia, undescended testicle, underbite, or overbite.
- No guarantees are made regarding your puppy's temperament. The temperament of your puppy is largely based upon the amount of time you give to your dog and to its development and socialization. Puppy Kindergarten/Puppy Obedience classes are recommended for all puppies. Proper socialization and training are a must for your puppy to be a well-adjusted, welcome member of your family.
- This health guarantee does not cover injury, illness or neglect caused by the buyer. We cannot guarantee the puppy's color, size, trainability, or worthiness for breeding or showing.
- As responsible owners you agree to have your new puppy spayed or neutered at the earliest date your veterinarian will allow (usually around 4-6 months). Our puppies are sold under a limited AKC registration, which means that they are not allowed to be used for breeding. Any puppy that is sold under limited AKC registration and is not spayed/neutered by 8 months of age will automatically void the terms of this contract.
- A dog owner's relationship with the breeder does not end with the signing of the contract. We are still available to answer questions and help with problems that might come up after you take your puppy home. If during the lifetime of your dog you should no longer be able to care for him, you agree to contact us first. Under most circumstances we will agree to take your dog back and care for him until we can find him another family. You will not receive any refund or exchange for this service. We never want to see any of our puppies end up in a pound, shelter, veterinarian's office, pet shop, auction, or humane society. Transfer of this animal to any of the above will constitute a breach of this contract.
- Changing your puppy's diet immediately is not recommended, but if you must do it please do so very gradually. A good method is to mix the different brands of food, slowly changing the ratio until only the new food is being given. Our puppies are being given Life's Abundance, a brand that we chose for its freshness as it is delivered direct from the manufacturer, quality healthy ingredients, competitive price, and many more reasons. Feeding our dogs anything less is simply not worth the risk.
- Any and all deposits are non-refundable.
- All guarantees are null and void if the buyer fails to follow any of the above stated terms.
- When the puppy reaches 7 weeks old (8 weeks for airline shipping) and is ready to go to his new home, if he is not picked up and paid in full a charge of $10 per day will be added to the price (unless otherwise agreed upon). You will also be charged for any additional vet and vaccination expenses.
- We do collect 6.25% state sales tax which on $800 is $50.00, unless you are a buyer outside the state of Texas.
- When buying over the internet you are automatically agreeing to these terms.
